How to say “mother” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ما تأتي عبرة مثل أن أباك وأمك ماتا،
No lesson is as profound as the fact that your father and mother have passed away,
وَأُمَّكَ — and your mother. The 'and' joins a second subject under the same 'that', keeping it in the accusative that the emphasis particle forces, and it carries an attached 'your' for the reader. So coordination passes the case along, and the suffix names the listener's own mother.
