Arabic vocabulary
How to say “news” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كَأَنَّكَ لَمْ تَسْمَعْ أَخْبَارًا مِنْ مَضَى
It is as if you had not heard news of those who have passed.
أَخْبَارًا — news. An indefinite plural noun, no 'the', carrying the object ending because it is what the hearing would have fallen upon. Its general 'some news' fits the point: you act as if no reports of the dead ever reached you. The next phrase says news OF whom.
