Arabic vocabulary
How to say “piled-up” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالْقَنَاطِيرُ الْمُقَنْطَرَةُ وَمَا اِجْتَمَعَتْ إِلَّا بِأَوْزَارٍ،
And the piled-up loads, and they did not come together except by sins,
الْمُقَنْطَرَةُ — the piled-up. Carries al- ('the') and is a describing word for the loads before it — 'the piled-up'. As an adjective it follows its noun and matches its definiteness and case. It intensifies the image of accumulation, echoing the same pairing used earlier in the text.
