Arabic vocabulary
How to say “piled-up loads” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالْقَنَاطِيرُ الْمُقَنْطَرَةُ وَمَا اِجْتَمَعَتْ إِلَّا بِأَوْزَارٍ،
And the piled-up loads, and they did not come together except by sins,
وَالْقَنَاطِيرُ — and the piled-up loads. The connector wa- ('and') fused onto a noun carrying al- ('the'), resuming the catalogue of worldly things — 'and the heaped loads'. The wa- coordinates this with earlier listed items. The plural is an irregular reshaped form, and the article marks the heaps as specific.
