How to say “preserve” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَحْفَظُ اللَّهُ بِهِمْ الْأَرْضَ،
God preserves the earth through them.
يَحْفَظُ — he preserves. A present-tense verb in the 'he' shape, used here for a timeless, ongoing truth rather than a single act; its subject is supplied by the following divine name. Placing the verb before its subject is the normal Arabic order, so reading it means holding the action until the doer arrives next.
