Arabic vocabulary
How to say “recompense; reward” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَجْتَهِدُ فِي مُكَافَأَتِهِ،
And he strives to reward him.
مُكَافَأَتِهِ — his rewarding. This is a verbal noun, 'the rewarding-of', with the 'him' pronoun on its end, sitting in the genitive after the 'in' before it. The attached -hu is the one rewarded, the benefactor. So action, object, and case all fold into one word.
