وَتَقُولُ كَانَ يَعْمُدُ إِلَى الْقَصَبِ
And she said that he used to go to the reeds.
الْقَصَبِ — the reeds. A definite noun marked by al-, after the 'to' preposition and so in the genitive. The al- presents it as a known, specific stand of reeds. It is the destination the habitual going was aimed at, closing the motion-phrase.
