How to say “register” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَفِي ثَبْتِ كُتُبِ أَبِي حَنِيفَةَ، وَكُتُبِ الْحُمَيْدِيِّ، وَكُتُبِ شَيْخِنَا عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ،
And in the register are the books of Abu Hanifa, the books of al-Humaydi, and the books of our sheikh Abd al-Wahhab.
ثَبْتِ — the register. A noun governed by the preceding 'in' and so in the genitive. It names the catalogue itself and serves as the location inside which the listed books are recorded. It anchors the prepositional phrase opened just before.
