How to say “rely” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وخروجٌ من البيت مع بِسم الله توكّلتُ على الله فيُحفَظُ المسار
And leaving the house with 'In the name of Allah, I rely on Allah,' preserves the path.
تَوَكَّلْتُ — I rely. 'I have put my trust', past with '-tu' marking 'I'. The form means 'rely wholly on'; the suffix shows the speaker himself as the one trusting.
