How to say “remains” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
تبدلت أوراقه عن الورق غربان البين فقامت تندب الآثار
Its leaves were replaced by the ravens of parting, and they stood lamenting the traces,
الآثَارَ — the traces/remains. This noun is the object of the lamenting verb, shown by its accusative ending, which marks what receives the action. The 'the' makes it the specific traces being mourned, so it names what the wailing is over.
