Arabic vocabulary
How to say “rose” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَمَا اِرْتَفَعَ رَافِعٌ إِلَّا بِالتَّقْوَى ، الْخَيْرُ ،
No one is exalted except by piety and goodness,
اِرْتَفَعَ — he rose. This is a past-tense verb on a reflexive pattern meaning 'to raise oneself / rise', with its 'he' subject carried inside the form. The pattern signals an action turned back on the doer, so the rising is something he undergoes by himself rather than an act on an outside object.
