How to say “rose up” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
غُرْبَانُ الْبَيْنِ فَقَامَتْ تَنْدُبُ الْآثَارَ
The crows of separation rose up and lamented the ruins.
فَقَامَتْ — then she rose up. A past-tense verb 'rose up' in the feminine-singular form, prefixed by fa- ('then/so'). The fa- marks the next step of the sequence, and the feminine ending agrees with the crows as a non-human plural treated as feminine singular. So one word carries connector, tense, and subject-agreement.
