Arabic vocabulary
How to say “ruin” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَدْ شَغَلَكَ نَيْلٌ لِذَاتِكَ عَنْ ذِكْرِ خَرَابِ ذَاتِكَ
And indeed, the attainment of your pleasures has occupied you from the remembrance of the ruin of your self.
خَرَابِ — the ruin. A noun naming ruin, sitting in the middle of a chained possessive: it is owned by 'remembrance' before it yet owns 'your self' after it. So it carries the 'of...' ending on both counts, building 'remembrance of the ruin of your self', each link feeding the next.
