How to say “Saf” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَتْ لاِبْنِ صَيَّادِ يَا صَافِ ـ
Then she said to Ibn Sayyad, "O Saf—"
صَافِ — Saf. A name in direct-address form following the calling particle, here cut off mid-utterance. Being addressed, it takes the special vocative shape; the truncation reflects that the speech is interrupted, not a grammatical feature of the word.
