How to say “schemes” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وما أبقى حيلة لي في مكائده ولا ترك،
He left me no option in his schemes nor did he abstain.
مَكَائِدِهِ — his schemes. The attached -hi adds 'his', pointing back to Satan named earlier, not to any nearer noun, so tracking the real owner is part of reading the line. Standing after the preposition 'in', the plural noun takes the post-preposition form.
