How to say “scribes” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَكُتَّابُنَا هَذَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ الْمُنْتَهِيُ،
And this book of ours is needed by the advanced student,
وَكُتَّابُنَا — and our scribes. A noun fronted by 'wa-' (and) and closed by '-na', an 'our' glued to its end, so one word holds connector, noun, and possessor. The 'wa-' ties the clause to the passage and the suffix marks the work as 'ours'; the source spelling is ambiguous between a singular and a plural reading.
