How to say “signs” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ أَمَارَاتِهَا؟
He said, 'Then tell me about its signs.'
أَمَارَاتِهَا — its signs. A noun 'signs' with an attached '-its' that reaches back to the Hour mentioned earlier, not to any nearer word. It is the topic governed by 'about', so it takes the (genitive) ending. The possessive suffix is what ties these signs to the Hour as their owner.
