Arabic vocabulary
How to say “sins” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَمَّا الذُّنُوبَ فَلَيْسَ لِلْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَذْنَبَ
As for sins, it is not for the servant to sin.
الذُّنُوبَ — the sins. A definite noun 'the sins', fronted as the announced topic after 'as for', and carrying the object-like ending because that fronting construction sets it up as what the rest comments on. Its leading 'the' assimilates in sound into the following letter, a regular Arabic feature.
