Arabic vocabulary
How to say “to sin” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَمَّا الذُّنُوبَ فَلَيْسَ لِلْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَذْنَبَ
As for sins, it is not for the servant to sin.
يَذْنَبَ — to sin. A present verb 'sin' standing in the subjunctive shape forced by the 'to' particle just before it. The changed ending is how a listener knows this is the contemplated action, the thing-not-permitted, rather than an ongoing fact.
