How to say “sitting” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِذَا بِثَلَاثَةِ نَفَرٍ قُعَّادٍ رُؤُوسُهُمْ فِي مُرَقَّعَاتِهِمْ
Then three people were sitting with their heads in their cloaks.
قعُود — sitting. A plural describing word giving the posture of the three people: they are in a seated state. It agrees with that counted group and pins down what they were doing when discovered, not a one-off action but an ongoing position.
