قَالَ الْحَقُّ وَمَضَى فَتَبِعْتُهُ،
He spoke the truth and departed, so I followed him.
فَتَبِعْتُهُ — so I followed him. Begins with the sequencing connector 'so/then', then a past verb carrying both 'I' and 'him', giving 'so I followed him'. The connector marks the following as the consequence of his departing. Subject and object both ride on the single verb.
