طَارَتْ — they soared. A past-tense verb carrying a feminine-singular ending even though its subject 'hearts' is plural. Arabic allows a verb placed before a non-human plural subject to stay feminine singular, so the ending agrees with the broken-plural noun as a single feminine group rather than as 'they'.
