How to say “solitude” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ حُبِّبَ إِلَيْهِ الْخَلَاءُ
Then he came to love solitude.
الْخَلَاءُ — the solitude. This noun carries the 'the' marker and is the grammatical subject of the passive verb, the thing that was made beloved. Although it sits at the end, it is the real doer-slot of 'was made beloved to him'.
