فَلَبِثْتُ وَالْقَدَحُ عَلَى يْدَيَّ
So I remained, and the cup was upon my two hands.
وَالْقَدَحُ — and the cup. A noun made definite by the prefixed 'the', fronted by wa-. Here the wa- opens a circumstantial 'while' clause, and the noun is its subject; this 'wa- plus noun' pattern paints the scene around the main action rather than adding a new event.
