He rejects him and turns to the ignorant man.
الْجَاهِل — the ignorant man. This noun stands in the (genitive) under the preceding 'to/toward'; its al- makes it definite, 'the ignorant man'. It is the destination the devil turns to. Its case is governed by the preposition before it.
