Arabic vocabulary
How to say “turns to” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَرْفُضُهُ وَيَتَحَوَّلُ إِلَى الْجَاهِلِ
He rejects him and turns to the ignorant man.
وَيَتَحَوَّلُ — and turns to. The wa- adds a second action, and the verb it prefixes is a reflexive-pattern present meaning 'turns himself toward'. The reflexive shape gives the sense of redirecting his own attention. Its subject 'he' is built in, awaiting the destination marked by the next preposition.
