How to say “the nights” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
خَرَجْتُ لَيْلَةً مِنَ اللَّيَالِي
One night I went out.
اللَّيَالِي — the nights. A definite broken-plural noun, 'the nights', the kind of plural Arabic makes by reshaping the word internally rather than just adding an ending. After the preceding 'from' it sits in the genitive and names the whole group the single night belongs to.
