Arabic vocabulary
التَّنُّورِ is how you say “the oven” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فَخَرَجَتْ إِلَى التَّنُّورِ فَإِذَا هِيَ كَالْرَّغِيفِ الْمَحْرُوقِ
She went out to the oven, and behold, she was like a burnt loaf.
التَّنُّورِ — the oven. A definite noun, marked by al-, after the 'to' preposition and so in the genitive. The al- makes it the known oven of the scene. It is the destination the going-out was aimed at, completing the motion-phrase.
