How to say “the second” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالْثَّانِيُ كَمَنْ صَارَعَ رَجُلًا ضَعِيفًا فَإِنَّهُ يَصْرَعُهُ بِغَيْرِ مِشْقَةٍ
And the second is like someone who wrestles a weak man; he throws him down without difficulty.
والثانى — and the second. The 'wa-' connects this into the passage, and the rest is a definite noun 'the second (case)' with 'al-' marking it as the already-known second example being contrasted with the first.
