How to say “the Shiites” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَتْ الشِّيعَةُ بَلُّ يَقْصِدُ عَلِيًّا؛
The Shiites said, "No, he meant Ali."
الشِّيعَةُ — the Shiites. A definite feminine collective noun, 'the Shi'a', the doer of 'said'; it sits after its verb per Arabic's verb-then-subject order. Being a feminine collective is why the verb before it took the feminine ending.
