وَأَحْتَقِرُ هِمَمَ الْطُّلَّابِ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ
I hold the students' ambitions in contempt, and praise be to God.
الطلاب — the students. The owning second member of 'the ambitions of the students'. It carries al- and the genitive, and it is what makes the ambitions definite, a specific group's ambitions. It names whose aspirations are being disparaged.
