Arabic vocabulary
How to say “they bought” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاشْتَرَوْا الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ
And they exchanged the life of this world for the Hereafter.
وَاشْتَرَوْا — and they bought. The wa- on the front coordinates this clause with what came before, and the verb is a past-tense action with a plural doer built into its shape. So one word carries the connector and the verb, with the subject 'they' living inside it.
