How to say “they joined / they fastened” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَوَصَلَا مِنْ وَرَقِ التِّينِ وَعَمِلَا مَآزِرَ
Then they joined fig leaves together and made aprons.
فَوَصَلَا — then they joined. 'Fa-' opens this as the next step, 'then', attaching to a past verb in the dual. The '-a' ending marks exactly two doers (Adam and Eve) joining things together; the dual is Arabic's dedicated 'precisely two' form, folded into the verb.
