وَلَمْ تَرَ فِي الْبَاقِينَ مَا يَصْنَعُ الدَّهْرُ
And you did not see in those who remain what time will do.
الْبَاقِينَ — those who remain. A doer-noun (active participle) built from 'to remain', meaning 'those who stay behind', the still-living. Carrying 'the', it is governed by the preposition 'among' and so takes its plural 'of...' ending. It names the survivors you fail to learn from.
