How to say “thought” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا تَحْتَاجُ إِلَى فِكْرٍ، وَحُضُورُ قَلْبٍ،
And they do not need thought, and presence of heart,
فكر — thought. An indefinite noun governed by the preceding 'to', and so in the genitive. It names the first thing the simple tasks do not call for. Its indefiniteness keeps 'thought' general.
