And it was said that patience is the steadiness of the heart in moments of disturbance.
القَلْبِ — the heart. The owner half of the 'of' chain ('steadiness of the heart'), a definite noun in the genitive. Its 'the' fixes the pairing, locating the steadiness in the heart.

And they do not need thought, and presence of heart,
قلب — of heart. The owning second member of 'presence of heart', a fixed expression for full attention. As the noun the previous word leans on, it sits in the genitive. The two nouns side by side build the 'of' link with no separate word for 'of'.
