Arabic vocabulary
How to say “time” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
فقد عذبت الحيوان وضيعت الزمان،
You have only exhausted yourself and wasted your time.
الزَّمَانَ — the time. 'time / the age,' in the -a form as object of 'wasted.' What you threw away — your time. Tormenting the body and wasting time: the whole yield of reading logic for spectacle and the world. A blunt verdict.
From: Revelation Over Philosophy →وانقضى زمان الدلال وفات وقت النشوز،
The time of indulgence has ended, and the moments of rebellion have passed.
زَمَانُ — time. This is the subject of 'came to an end', placed after its verb and carrying the subject ending, and it heads a possessive pairing, 'the time of indulgence'. So it both runs out and opens the 'of' relationship completed by the next word.
