Arabic vocabulary
How to say “to attract” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَكَانَ يَمْزِجُ بَيْنَ هَذَا وَذَاكَ لِيَجْذِبَ الْقُلُوبَ،
So he would blend this with that to win hearts.
لِيَجْذِبَ — in order to attract. This attaches the purpose-preposition 'in order to' to a verb and bends it into the 'aim' subjunctive shape — one prefix both signals purpose and triggers the changed ending. It gives 'so as to attract', marking the goal of the blending.
