Arabic vocabulary
How to say “to write” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَكْتُبُ مِنَ الْإِنْجِيلِ بِالْعَرَبِيَّةِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ،
And he would write from the Gospel into Arabic whatever God willed him to write.
يَكْتُبَ — write. This present verb sits in its subjunctive shape because of the 'to/that' just before it; the changed ending is the cue that the writing is the aimed-at content of God's will, not something already done. It carries its own 'he' subject.
