How to say “took” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنَّهُ اِقْتَطَعَ مِنْ مَالِهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا،
and that he had taken such and such from its funds.
اِقْتَطَعَ — he had taken. A derived-pattern past verb 'cut off / appropriated', whose built-up reflexive shape carries the 'take a slice for oneself' sense. It carries its own 'he' subject and heads the reported charge.
