Arabic vocabulary
How to say “trial” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَقَلُّ مِحْنَةِ الْكَبِيرِ أَنْ تَقَعَ النَّوَاةُ فِي الْكُوزِ،
And the least trial of the elder is that the pit falls into the jug.
مِحْنَةِ — trial. A noun 'trial / hardship', the owned half after the superlative 'the least'. It stands in the genitive as the completing term of that 'of' pairing, and itself heads a further 'of' link with 'the elder' next: 'the least trial of the elder'.
