Arabic vocabulary
How to say “udder” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقُلْتُ إِنْفَضِّ الضَّرْعَ مِنَ التُّرَابِ وَالشَّعْرِ وَالْقِذَى
I said, "Shake the udder free of dirt, hair, and grit."
الضَّرْعَ — the udder. A definite noun, made so by its fused 'al-' (the), serving as the object of the command 'shake off', so it takes the object ending. Its first letter is a sun-letter, so the 'al-' blends into a doubled 'd' in speech (ad-dar'). It names what is to be cleaned.
