How to say “utter enthrallment” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ الْعِشْقُ وَآخَرُهَا التَّتِيمُ
Then comes ardent love, and its final stage is utter enthrallment.
التَّتِيمُ — the utter enthrallment. The al- marks this as the specific endpoint already pointed to by the previous word's 'its'. It serves as the predicate completing the unspoken 'is': the final stage equals this state. Arabic carries the linking 'is' silently between the two definite nouns.
