How to say “was expelled” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لَمَّا أُخْرِجَ آدَمُ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ
When Adam was expelled from Paradise.
أُخْرِجَ — was expelled. This is the PASSIVE of 'expel': Adam UNDERWENT the expelling and the expeller is left unnamed. Arabic marks the passive by reshaping the verb's inner vowels, not by adding a helper word, so the form looks close to its active twin but flips who acts.
