Arabic vocabulary
How to say “whips” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَحَدُهُمَا أَنَّ المَوَاعِظَ كَالسِّيَاطِ،
The first of the two: that admonitions are like the whips,
كَالْسِّيَاطُ — like the whips. This fuses a 'like/as' comparison-particle to a definite noun, building a simile in one word: 'like the whips'. The particle governs the noun into the genitive and serves as the clause's predicate.
