Arabic vocabulary
How to say “your self” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلِهٰذَا قَالَ فَلِمَاذَا أَخْرَجْتَنَا وَنَفْسِكِ مِنَ الْجَنَّٰةِ؟
And because of this he said, "So why did you expel us and your self from Paradise?"
وَنَفْسِكِ — and your self. This joins 'and' to the noun 'self' with a feminine 'your' suffixed on — a single word meaning 'and your own self'. The feminine ending of the possessor tells us the addressee here is grammatically feminine, an agreement clue English cannot show.
