Arabic vocabulary
How to say “a burning” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَكُنْتُ أَجِدُ مَعَ ذَلِكَ حَرَارَةً فِي صَدْرِي لَا تَكَادُ تَسْكُنُ
And I used to feel a burning in my chest that scarcely subsided.
حَرَارَةً — a burning. An indefinite noun whose -an ending marks it as the direct object of the feeling-verb, the thing felt. That accusative ending tells you this word is what was experienced, not the one experiencing it. The relative clause after it ('that scarcely subsided') narrows down which burning is meant.
