Arabic vocabulary
How to say “a leg” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لَا يُوزَنُ بِهِ رِجْلٌ إِلَّا رَجَحَ بِهِ
No leg is weighed with it without tipping the balance.
رِجْلٌ — a leg. An indefinite noun (no 'the'), and despite the passive earlier it is the thing actually weighed, so it acts as the stand-in subject the passive verb agrees with. Being indefinite, it reads as 'any leg', keeping the statement general.
