How to say “Abu” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
Abu Salih, the narrator from Abu Hurairah, when asked about how to recite them, said: 'Say: Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar until each is thirty-three.'
أَبُو — Abu. The first half of the name 'Abu Salih', 'father of'. It shows its case with a long vowel — the long 'u' marks it as the subject (the one who said). It heads a possessive with the next name.
