Arabic vocabulary
How to say “agreed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِنْ وَافَقَ الشَّرْعُ مُرَّادَهُمْ فَبِهَا،
If the Sharia agreed with their desire, then so be it,
وَافَقَ — it agreed. A past-tense verb, 'he/it' form, functioning as the condition's verb after 'if'. Even though it is past in shape, inside a conditional it reads as a general or hypothetical 'were to agree'. It governs the noun after it as its subject and the later noun as what is agreed with.
